Nice pictures!

A couple of points: NSU and Mazda weren’t the only company to make rotary cars. The NSU engine was a co production with Citroen who made a handful of GS Birotors. I saw one (on the interwebs) for sale last year. The engine went on to break both companies who had to be bailed out by VW and Peugeot.

The classic Mini might well have been a Cooper, but most weren’t.

Oh, and I didn’t know the Imp made its way to America but seemingly it did. It looks like a US spec one as it doesn’t have any rear indicators..

DAYUM, what’s the deal with the red CRX at the end?

That’s a cool little meet. I visited an air-cooled only meet the other day and say some wild cars: 930 Turbo, 930 race car with a full cage, dual fuel pumps, powered by an MSD box, all sorts of Beetles and one wearing giant Porsche wheels so you knew it wasn’t stock under the trunk... Some great Citroen 2CV’s. The coolest car of all that I saw that weekend: Subaru 360, fully unrestored!

I met an awesome guy with a 914 and it made me want a 914 even more than I already do. There are a couple years with the best engines do you gotta pick em right. They were never known for their brakes, but with a little machining you can swap a full BMW 3201 system on. Pretty cool!

Sorry for the thread-jacking but cool, kinda quirky car shows like the one you went to get me all jacked up. I love the Mini and the Isetta.

Interesting. I didn’t know Citroen made a version, too. Did they actually sell any, or was it more of an early Chevy Vega situation?

Great pics! Love that 2CV and the NSU! Would love to have a 2CV of my own someday, but their prices have gone up a lot....I’ll just have to settle for my FIAT 126 when the time comes! :)

Surprised nobody had any classic 500s at that show! :)

They actually made two cars. The M35 was a prototype issued to favoured couple of hundred people as a prototype. Single rotor engine, built by Heuliez, a French coachbuilder.

The GS Birotor was an actual production car. It had the twin rotor production spec engine as in the Ro80 but only 847 were sold. Citroen then tried to buy back and crush the lot rather than have the expense of making parts but a few escaped. Like this one . No price listed but the one I saw last year was going for €7,000.

The CX was intended to have the Wankel but given the failure of the Birotor they reverted to a piston engine, keeping the semi automatic gearbox intended for the rotary as an option.

Me too! I think there were two last year. In truth, this year the turnout was a bit smaller. No pun intended. The pictured Mini was the only one of those, too. Last year a guy brought his Mini pickup, complete with a Honda B18 VTEC swap. That thing was awesome.
